ABOUT THE FARM
OUR HISTORY
Since 1991
Woodley Farms began in the late 80’s. Growing up on a farm in southern Ontario, Barry had an interest in agriculture but he had to find his niche. A family friend encouraged him to grow outdoor flowers that would later be dried and dyed within a greenhouse.
This proved to be a successful venture that ended when dried flower arrangements were replaced with silk flowers.

Two glass greenhouses remained on the property he purchased for his family home. He decided to use this space to grow spring bedding plants and sell them at local farmer’s markets.
This experience solidified Barry’s passion for agriculture and with the support of his wife and family, he began to develop his career in horticulture.
OUR DAY-TO-DAY
Barry and Christine found a way to combine their passion for horticulture and business management. Fast forward 30 years and the two glass greenhouses have become one large complex that operates year-round. Woodley Farm & Greenhouses (WFG) is a wholesale grower offering spring bedding plants, summer annuals, fall garden mums and Christmas poinsettias.
The second generation has entered the business with an equivalent passion for agriculture.

Barry’s son, Fred, is working alongside his father, complimenting the greenhouse with a background in economics and finance. In addition, Fred is introducing tropical plants to the product mix of Woodley Farm & Greenhouses.

The oldest daughter, Olivia, is an Osteopathic Physician who uses manual therapy to improve health. This is especially useful to correct ailments from working in the facility. She runs her practice in a nearby town and can share in the business by keeping her family healthy.

Maddy, the youngest daughter, has completed her degree in Business with a major in Marketing, hence a professional website. Her expertise in Marketing and digital media is shown in her creation of WFG flyers and catalogues.
OUR FUTURE
While the business continues to look inward for efficiencies, there are plans to continue to grow our market.
By stepping outside of our comfort zone, we are able to experiment with new plant types and growing methods, ensuring we stay up to date with the latest in the horticultural world. We are grateful for God’s blessings thus far and excited for the future growth of Woodley Farm & Greenhouses.
